BatteryLimits has been appointed to manage the Feasibility Study for International Graphite’s secondary graphite processing plant to be located in the United Arab Emirates.  The project involves the development of an integrated processing plant involving graphite purification, production of coated spheroidised graphite for battery anodes, expandable graphite for fire retardant building products, and purified micronised graphite for specialist paints and dispersions.  The plant will process high quality graphite concentrates from mining projects in east Africa.

BatteryLimits completed a Prefeasibility Study in mid-2018. The group is working closely with Chinese technologists who have extensive experience in secondary graphite processing.  International Graphite’s Technical Director Mr Jasbir Khosa said the close relationship with BatteryLimits gave the company access to outstanding engineering resources to tackle challenges associated with the final flowsheet development, including selection of optimum purification technology.

The full Feasibility Study is scheduled for completion at the end of 2019.
