David is a metallurgist with more than 30 years' experience in mining operations, project development and process engineering. As Chief Executive Officer, he has expanded BatteryLimits' specialist capabilities in downstream processing and critical minerals while leading the company's continued growth across a diverse range of commodities. Before joining BatteryLimits, David held senior technical and executive roles including Manager Metallurgy, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of ASX-listed Moly Mines, where he led the development of the Spinifex Ridge molybdenum-copper and iron ore projects in Western Australia. He also spent two decades in the Western Australian gold industry, including 10 years with Barrick Gold at the Granny Smith operation, where he held roles including Chief Metallurgist and Processing Manager. David brings extensive expertise in metallurgy, operations, project management, due diligence and the development of complex mining projects.
Phil is one of Australia’s most respected mining professionals with 50 years’ experience in diverse and challenging projects around the world. His extensive career has taken him from operational and technical support roles at Broken Hill, Bougainville Copper, Queensland Nickel (QNI) and Gove Alumina to senior executive and managerial positions. Phil founded Normet Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s major metallurgical companies, and led the business for 18 years. He held the prominent role of Director Advisory with GRD Minproc Ltd (now Amec Foster Wheeler) from 2001 to 2005.
The culmination of Phil’s extensive experience is reflected in the success of BatteryLimits. Over the past decade the company has developed a unique niche in the challenging space where engineering technology meets resource economics. As founder, Phil continues to provide high level technical project advisory services to the mining industry across a diverse range of commodities. He takes on key project and study management roles in gold, base metals, rare earths and graphite.
Phil holds a Master of Business Administration and a Degree in Metallurgy.
Josh is an experienced project manager responsible for coordinating BatteryLimits' engineering projects from study through to delivery. He manages client requirements, engineering interfaces, technical queries (TQEs), project reporting, and capital and operating cost estimates to ensure projects remain aligned with client objectives. He has played a key role in delivering International Graphite's Collie development program, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and supporting the successful delivery of one of Australia's first downstream graphite projects.
Greg is a senior mining executive with extensive operational and project delivery experience across Australia, Africa and Asia. He has held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer for the Kapulo and Dikulushi copper projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Suhayo Gold in Indonesia. Greg has also served as Director of Operations for Agincourt Resources in Indonesia, and Engineering and Production Manager for Newcrest Mining's Telfer operation in Western Australia and Halmahera operation in Indonesia. At BatteryLimits, he leads the delivery of major project development services for Regis Resources, drawing on decades of experience in operations, engineering and project execution.
Jasbir is a metallurgical engineer with more than 40 years' experience spanning operations, research, engineering and project development. His career has covered a broad range of commodities, including graphite, iron ore, lead, copper, zinc, nickel, gold and mineral sands, with expertise in technical design, study management and project implementation from early-stage studies through to detailed engineering. Before joining BatteryLimits, Jasbir held senior operational and technical roles across the resources sector, including Principal Research Engineer with CSIRO, where he specialised in iron ore and light metals research and was awarded a patent for a titanium reactor design. Jasbir holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgical, Honours), an MBA, a Master of Science in Mineral Economics and a Master of Science in Cyber Security. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), Engineers Australia, the Australian Information Security Association, and the Association for Iron and Steel Technology.
Motoi is a mechanical engineer experienced in the delivery of mining and minerals processing projects from design through to construction and operations across a range of commodities. He has held engineering roles with Regis Resources, Mintrex, Newcrest Mining and Northwest Project Management, contributing to major resource projects across Western Australia. At BatteryLimits, Motoi applies his practical engineering experience to support project design, equipment selection and the delivery of technically robust processing solutions.
Gilbert is a mechanical engineer with experience across mining, minerals processing and downstream processing projects. His expertise includes mechanical and process design, equipment selection, P&ID development and review, hydraulic calculations, and engineering for major processing facilities from feasibility through to detailed design. Before rejoining BatteryLimits, Gilbert worked with Primero, Wood, BG&E Resources and Wave International, contributing to major lithium, nickel, mineral sands and processing projects in Australia and internationally. Gilbert holds a Master of Professional Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Western Australia. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, he works closely with BatteryLimits' Chinese technology partners, supporting collaboration on downstream graphite processing and advanced materials technologies.
