Simberi Gold Sulphide Project – Allied Gold

BatteryLimits was appointed as Client Representative/Study Manager for development of Simberi Gold’s sulphide gold project on Simberi Island in Papua New Guinea, in conjunction with engineers GR Engineering Services.  First job was to undertake a Scoping Study to address options for treatment of the refractory gold ore. 
 

Then, in conjunction with a Pre-Feasibility Study, diamond drilling has been undertaken to generate samples for metallurgical testwork.  BatteryLimits is managing this metallurgical test work and flowsheet development to design the optimum process route.  In addition, a detailed study is underway to cost an expanded oxide circuit to the 2 Mt/a process plant at Simberi.
 

Yellow Rock Resources

Yellow Rock Resources has appointed BatteryLimits to undertake the process development and study management for the Gabanintha Vanadium project near Meekatharra, in Western Australia.  A resource of 69 million tonnes at 0.87% V2O5 has been proven to Indicated and Measured Resource category in the high grade massive V2O5 zone.  Total resource is 151 million tonnes at 0.62% V2O5.
A sampling program of previous RC drill holes has been undertaken for sighter metallurgical work.  A diamond drill campaign will be run in July 2009 to generate samples for detailed metallurgical test work.  A concept study to explore treatment and marketing options will initially be undertaken for this massive high grade iron/vanadium/titanium orebody, followed by Scoping and Prefeasibility Studies.

Spinifex Ridge Reduced Capital Study – Moly Mines

BatteryLimits has managed the study to examine a 10 million tonnes per annum reduced capital case for Moly Mines for its Spinifex Ridge project in NW Western Australia.  The study involved Moly Mines addressing a number of cases for its large molybdenum/copper project by optimising pit shells, in conjunction with use of existing process equipment already ordered for the project.
The study included all aspects of the project development including mining, plant design, capital and operating costs, permitting, marketing and financial return.
 

Engenho Gold Plant Brazil  - Mundo Minerals

BatteryLimits visited the Engenho Gold Plant in Brazil for Mundo Minerals to conduct an independent review of the operation and make recommendations for plant and operating improvements.  Mundo Minerals is underway with plant improvements resulting from the review.
