Tony Showell

Tony undertakes the role of Principal Metallurgist for BatteryLimits.

Tony is a metallurgist with over 30 years experience in the mining industry. On graduation he worked at Mt Isa Mines in Queensland for two years, and then worked in a nickel-platinum operation in South Africa.

In 1974 Tony accepted a position with Queensland Nickel at its new refinery at Townsville in Queensland, where he worked in a number of technical, operational and management roles over a thirteen year period.

Tony then joined Normet and undertook metallurgical operational and consulting roles in the Australian gold industry. He also gained overseas consulting experience with operations in Indonesia and Malaysia. Tony was made a Director of Normet in 1994 and became Principal Consultant undertaking project management, metallurgical audits, due diligence and process consulting work. Normet was purchased by GRD Minproc in 2001 and Tony took on the role of Optimisation Manager for the group.

More recently Tony has undertaken consultancy roles in:

• Operational Consulting
• Metallurgical Testwork Management.
