Phil Hearse

Phil is Managing Director of BatteryLimits.

Phil graduated as a metallurgist and has 32 years experience in the mining industry. During the first fifteen years he provided technical support roles to base metals, nickel and alumina process operations, and worked in the design and commissioning of new gold and base metals projects.

Phil was Managing Director of the metallurgical and risk services company Normet from 1984 to 2001. During this period, he was responsible for establishing consultancies and laboratories throughout Australia and in Asia, and for maintaining the reputation of the Normet business. He also undertook many project management and consultancy roles.

In 2001, Phil sold the risk management and consulting business of Normet to GRD Minproc. He took on the role of Director Advisory with GRD Minproc from 2001 to 2003, and then continued with GRD Minproc as Principal Consultant until 2005.

Phil established BatteryLimits to provide high quality risk management, process engineering and project management consultancy services to the mining industry.
