Phil manages studies and independent reviews, and provides high level consultancy services to BatteryLimits’ clients. He is BatteryLimits’ risk manager and takes on expert witness roles.
Phil is a metallurgist with 35 years industry experience. He also holds an MBA.
He worked in operational roles at Broken Hill, Bougainville Copper, Queensland Nickel and Gove Alumina. He ran the company Normet Pty Ltd, that was one of Australia’s major metallurgical and risk companies, for 18 years. During that time, he undertook multiple process and project development consultancy tasks.
He was Director Advisory with GRD Minproc from 2001 to 2005. He is now Managing Director of BatteryLimits.
His experience has spanned almost all aspects of process development including:

- Risk management
- Technical investigations
- Process plant design
- Management of feasibility studies
- Consultancy advice
- Independent technical reviews.
Tony undertakes due diligence reviews and metallurgical consulting.
Tony is a metallurgist with over 35 years experience in the mining industry. He worked at Mt Isa Mines, on nickel and platinum operations in South Africa, and then spent 14 years at Queensland Nickel’s refinery in Townsville through commissioning and operation.
He spent 15 years with Normet where he undertook multiple metallurgical consulting, process design, and project and study management roles in Australia and Asia. He then joined GRD Minproc as Principal Metallurgist.
Tony is Principal Metallurgist for BatteryLimits.
Jim’s main role is in the management of metallurgical testwork programs, and in flowsheet development for complex processes.
Jim is chemist/metallurgist with 30 years experience in the mining industry. He also holds an MBA.
He has had experience in research, testwork management and the development of new hydrometallurgical processes and projects. Jim commenced his career in academia that included Head of Department of Kalgoorlie School of Mines. Jim joined Ammtec as Senior Metallurgist, moving to Oretest as Laboratory Manager and Director. He spent two years as Director of Lakefield Research in Canada.
Robyn provides specialist risk consultancy services.
Robyn has a Commerce degree and post graduate qualifications in business management. She has worked in the mining industry for 20 years in commercial and consultancy roles. She has undertaken multiple risk assessment and consultancy roles for BatteryLimits in Australia and internationally.
