Allied Gold awards BatteryLimits contracts for Simberi Gold

Allied Gold Ltd has awarded BatteryLimits a number of contracts to assist in the growth of its gold operation at Simberi Island in Papua New Guinea.

Allied Gold is undertaking studies and metallurgical testwork aimed at increasing the existing oxide plant capacity from its nameplate capacity of 2.2 Mt/a to 3 Mt/a, and of developing the Pigiput sulphide project.

BatteryLimits is undertaking the following scopes of work:

  • Management of sulphide project metallurgical testwork program and interpretation
  • Management of a Scoping Study to assess the viability of options for the sulphide project
  • Management of testwork and a study to investigate calcination of coronous on the island to produce lime
  • Client representative for further stages of development of the sulphide project
  • Client representative for the Oxide Plant Expansion project being undertaken by GR Engineering Services
  • Provision of training services for the operation.

BatteryLimits is working closely with the Allied Gold project team, with the metallurgical laboratory Ammtec, with GR Engineering Services, and with personnel at Simberi Island to increase the capacity and efficiency of the Simberi operation.
